American Civil War Wargames


ACW wargames are played extensively at the club using both in-house written rules and Volley and Bayonet.
The in house rules are done at the regimental stand level, whilst Volley and Bayonet has been used to re-enact the 1st day at Gettysburg :-

       An overview of an ACW game.
       The Union flank attack crest the hill as the Rebs rush reserves to meet the threat.
       Rebel infantry resolutely defend a bridge despite some depressing dice rolling.
       As the Rebel centre collapses, Union columns plunge into the gap.
       A Rebel brigade defends a stone wall against all attacks.
